If you want to adjust your plan after you have already started to increase weight loss or to avoid hunger problems, here are some suggestions:
If you are on the Flex Plan and want to increase weight loss:
First reduce the fruit and starch intake to equal the Classic Plan levels (2 servings each). You could also try dropping the starches entirely.Continue to eat vegetables. Only reduce them if you happen to be eating unapproved vegetables. As a last resort, consider reducing the number of protein servings; however this usually isn't needed unless you are actually eating too much (not measuring properly). Typically however, protein intake should not be dropped if possible.
If you find yourself overly hungry and want to increase food intake while still losing weight:
If you are on the Flex Plan, you could eat more of the approved vegetables. Or instead of the 2 protein drinks, you could eat actual meat (2 servings of meat) to add bulk to your diet.If you are on the Classic Plan, you could move to the Flex Plan entirely, or simply integrate some of the Flex Plan concepts, in this order:First, add extra serving(s) of protein, and/or a protein drink, up to the limits allowed on the Flex Plan. If you still want to eat more food, consider eating more of the approved vegetables (unlimited). If possible, don't increase fruit and starch levels (stick with Classic Plan's 2 servings each), but you may do so if needed (to combat carb cravings for instance).
