Viatrim Dosage

You can use either the dropper in the bottle or a syringe to measure your dosage. The standard dosage is 12 drops, 3 times a day, for a total of 36 drops each day. Or, if you are using a syringe it is 0.4 ml, 3 times per day, for a total of 1.2 ml per day.

You can adjust the frequency if it works better for you, as long as you get 36 drops a day. For example, you could take 6 drops, 6 times a day. Or you could take 18 drops twice a day. At 36 drops a day, a single 1 oz bottle of Viatrim should last 3 weeks.

Instructions

  1. For best results, do not eat or drink anything for 15 minutes before or after taking the dose.
  2. Measure the appropriate amount of Viatrim liquid into the dropper or the syringe (see Accurate
  3. Measurement sections below).
  4. Place the liquid under your tongue using the dropper or syringe.
  5. Hold the liquid under your tongue for about 1 minute, then swallow.

There are two ways to measure and administer doses of Viatrim: the built-in dropper, or the syringe. What follows are some tips for accurate doses. While a larger dose is not harmful, it may cause you to run out of drops early. Too few drops may mean you aren't getting the desired potency.

Accurate Measurements Using the Dropper

The dropper is convenient and some people prefer using it over the syringe, but it is slightly less accurate. When putting drops directly into your mouth, you are judging by feel alone and that makes it difficult to tell exactly how many drops you are getting. To make measurements more accurate, use the spoon method as follows:

  1. Fill the dropper with medicine from the bottle using the rubber squeeze-bulb at top.
  2. Hold the dropper vertically over a spoon. If you hold the dropper horizontally, the drops will be too large, and you may run out of Viatrim too soon. Be sure to hold the dropper vertically.
  3. Squeeze the bulb again very gently until a single drop of liquid falls into the spoon. Repeat until you get the number of drops for the desired dosage level.

Accurate Measurements Using the Syringe

The syringe provides a high level of accuracy in measuring your doses.
  1. Start with the plunger pushed all the way down into the barrel. Make sure the tip is empty of liquid.
  2. Insert just the tip into the liquid inside the bottle.
  3. Pull the plunger back to draw the liquid into the barrel. Make sure the tip stays submerged so you don't get extra air in the barrel.
  4. Stop when the black rubber ring at the end of the plunger reaches the "ml" mark for the desired dosage.
  5. You may notice a small air bubble in the barrel after drawing the liquid into the syringe. This is normal -- the air in the tip of the syringe gets pulled into the barrel along with the liquid. The air bubble won't affect your dosage and actually helps push all the liquid out of the syringe. However, if you pull extra liquid into the syringe to try making up for the air bubble, you will be getting a slightly larger dose than you intended.
