There are some great benefits to a morning workout.
It wakes you upImproves the entire day (mood, energy, etc)Start of the day with a feeling of accomplishmentYou don't have all day to figure out excuses to avoid doing itIt's not weighing on your mind the whole day as an undone taskNothing else is going on the morning - no one can interfereProvides motivation to stick with the day's meal plansMeans you only need 1 shower per dayIt's less crowded at the gym
Of course, a morning workout means you have to get up earlier.
If you are not a morning person (many of us aren't), you can "train" yourself to be better at getting up.
Here are some ideas:
Meet someone else (you don't want to let them down)Put bright, blue-spectrum light (daylight bulbs) in your bedroom with a timerDo your workout outdoors in the summer; you are forced to go early to beat the heatTake the morning one step at a time ... it all starts with swinging your legs out of bed, then standing up
Also, prepare the night before by laying out the clothes you'll wear or packing your gym bag, and prepping a quick morning snack.
